Anyone have an idea what these clamping mechanisms on the binocular tripod mounts are called?

It appears they are a complete unit that is held into the end with the small set screw.

It has a plate with a hole in it that offset from the bore. You press in the spring the slide the plate in line with the hole so that a pin can be inserted.

The plate will pop into a groove in the pin, and then you turn the nut to put more tension on the plate locking the pin tightly.

Thanks for any help!

I tried going to that Hunters Technology website, but it loaded 160MB of crap before it showed a single image, and then would not respond to "show me next image. I can see the damned thumbnail, show me the image!". Incredibly obtuse web site design.

Generically, the mechanism is called a "cam". Their website text says "Patented durable quick twist locking system." which means you can go to the US patent office and get their actual patent application with their title on it, if you need to see what they called it.
