I see a lot of information on high pressure and through tool coolant systems.
It seems to me that it’s only Really useful in high speed and gun drilling situations.
Would that be a fair characterization?
I’m not thinking of the through tool flood coolant...more the 1000 psi systems.

Who uses it, when, what experiences are important for using those systems?

We use it wherever possible. Lathes, mills, custom machines, you name it. It will certainly increase tool life and help solve a lot of chip issues. Although most of my mill tooling is custom pcd stuff, they all have through coolant designed into the tool. 1000 psi isn't required, I use 440 - 515 psi (30-35 bar) on most things. 1000 psi is good for heavy steel turning though. It is not "only useful in high speed and gun drilling". It is useful in *any* drilling, period.

We use for the reasons Tony stated above also. We mostly bought it for the deep waterlines we were drilling in mold bases but it definitely makes a difference for the rest of our operations, especially chip evacuation
