Hi guys,

I have an RFQ for 7 bronze parts that finish to 10.16" OD x .67" thick. Alloy not specified, so whatever would be easiest. 932 aka 660 I guess. Should I investigate burned or waterjetted from plate, or slices from round bar? 10" round bar wouldn't do, so I fear the next size up would be 12". I haven't sourced any large section bronze in a long time so don't know what is currently readily available.

Thanks, and regards.

Mike

You should be able to get 3/4" plate from Alaskan Copper. That's gonna be your best bet.

Consider having them cast at a foundry. Bronze or brass plate is ferociously expensive and 21% plus kerf goes to waste cutting a circle. A round blank bronze casting might be competitive to plate.

Also, have you looked at blank undrilled pipe flanges from valve and pipe fitting suppliers?

C932 comes oversize for finishing to size. I ordered .25" thick and it came in around .340" IIRC. You very well may be able to get away with .625" stock and still have enough material to clean to .670"
