Did you read in here ?
Power chucks | Pneumatic and Hydraulic Equipment | Our Products | Howa Machinery, Ltd.

simply lay it on it's side (like when installed in a LATHE) and push/pull that rod/tube in the back and see what happens.....

thanks for the link.. i did see that but there was not much there.. there are no no rods coming out of the back.. but what i do notice is that i will probably need a rotating cylinder to make these functional..

oh well.. to ebay they go !!! LOL

thanks,
Joe

what doo you mean "no rods" ???

Pix #1 clearly shows something threaded "rod like".

Only if it rotates.....

Hope OP got them cheap cheap. Ebay might be the way to go, but shipping will be prohibitive for alot of buyers I suspect...

they are super nice lil chucks bout 5 1/2 " and 14 lbs and they look to be never used.. would try to figure a way to maybe actuate them with a draw bar.. but too many other projects already on the back burner

that would probly fit a qt8 mazak or the like
and fit in a usps flat rate box
considering new price of something in that class would be

Autogrip 6.0" A2-5 Mount 3-Jaws 3H-2 Series Wedge-Hook Type CNC Power Lathe Chuck-Kitagawa Style

unknown providence is your problem

and the fact you cant find any of those numbers at Howa

a case of beer or two should be possible

you need to measure and figure out exactly what that back is
A2- something whatever
then you might find someone that knows how to spin up the right draw nut and has history with howa's

or put a rope on them for use in the canoe
