does anyone know of of a place that has premade hydraulic cylinder base plates/end caps with counterbalance valving already built in?
or is that into one off stuff?

Square section tierod cylinder w/- cast ends ,no problemo ......what counterbalance valving is ,needs to be defined .....hose burst protection?.....free extend/resist return valving?......seems its a lot easier to add valving to the exterior via threaded/bolted ports......I prefer to go all steel ,welded together,rod gland end retained by a circlip,or split collets for more load capacity.Lotsa ways to do hydraulic cylinders.

Aggressive Hydraulics makes complete cylinders with valve cartridges and individual components. I think they would be you best bet short of you purchasing the proper form tool from Sun Hydraulics.

I was looking at form tools for what I need (just because) the one thing i was worried about is holding the tooling, wondering if holding it in a morse drill driver would be accurate enough to drill it on a lathe and face plate. Is there a place to rent form tools like there is for chamber reamers?

Should be able to buy aftermarket T-11A or T-2a tooling cheap enough.
