Hi,
I received a request to machine a pen, using a specific piece of titanium tubing as the barrel. It should be a fun diversion.
The piece of titanium is not large enough to make the whole pen from, so I'll need to use another piece for the rest of the parts. Initially, i thought of using another stock piece of titanium, but I'm now wondering about using a contrasting metal such as brass or bronze instead.
I understand that having two dissimilar metals in contact can lead to galvanic corrosion. I think titanium is quite resistant to corrosion, but can anyone advise how other metals are likely to hold up? Are there any metals in particular to stay away from?
Thanks in advance,
Lee
