ISO of a motor

ISO is millenial speak for In Search Of.?

International Standards Organization, which is kind of like DIN, ASA, JIC, NSF, SAE, NEMA, CE and UL. Kind of like the way millennial is related to oblivious.

For a USA-made motor, NEMA is more relevant than ISO.

NEMA not NEENER NEENER NEENER, which is the tone of this rapidly descending thread

My understanding is that type RA typically denotes a brush-riding repulsion start motor. From that, my guess is that frame 399 is probably a pre-NEMA standard which no longer exists. That would also date this as an antique machine.

ISO is what people who are too busy to type 'Looking for' use. It's three syllables, still, but they are generally considered to be shorter syllables by experts in the Slavic and Lower Asian tongues. I should add that the famous movie "Desperately Seeking Susan" was originally titled "ISO Susan" but was changed to suit the demands of its star, Madonna. This was back before she became a man, hard as beef jerky in the loins and thoracic regions, soft as sallow mutton in the brain.
