I don't know if they are made in USA, but I am very satisfied with the S&D drills I've bought from Drill Hog. they come split pointed. and seem to hold up well.

To further add to the confusion Triumph Twist Drill Company does have a manufacturing facility in Hibbing Minnesota. A quote from their website says "Triumph Twist Drill is a division of Minnesota Twist Drill. We sell high quality American Made drill bits and other cutting tools." Having said that they also say they manufacture "Black & Decker" and "Irwin" drills. If you look at almost any of these brand drills in a big box store they are clearly labeled "Made In China".

As for Drill Hog, they do have a company headquarters listed in Montana. They do mention that their products are "designed and made" in America. There is no mention of any production facilities what so ever. I would venture to guess that while they may be made in the U.S. they are made on a contract basis by lesser known production facilities.

Buy an S&D case from Huot and stock it as you see fit.

I just got a rude awakening. Looking at the price of the drill set mentioned in the previous post I thought it seemed a bit pricey for 8 drills. It also reminded me I had purchased a set of Triumph S&D drills by 1/64" from 1/2" to 1" many years ago. I looked up the price I paid and believe it or not it was less than $300.00. That same set today is being offered by MSC for $1053.00 with a supposed list price of over $1,300.00. OUCH!! Considering the average hourly rate in our area is less than $100.00 per hour and knowing the other costs that go into the business that doesn't leave much of a profit margin

Thanks, I ordered a 13 piece set off ebay. seller says he will wrap individually. I mistakenly said the 8 piece set earlier.

I got my Viking/Norse drill bits from Ebay. They are very nice and this time undamaged. The Ebay seller was Sandy56blue. The price was fair, in my opinion, and he wrapped all the bits individually at my request. Good seller.

$176. I really only wanted the 4 sizes for $100, but 13 bits for $176 seemed ok. Most of the time I am just removing material to continue boring.
