Perhaps they can jump hand in hand....

Default Not exactly "machinery", but ...

I can take a skid of parts to outside service(s).
Some trays have OD threads on them (and a small seating surface that you don't notice at first) and some trays have internal threads.
Parts are of decent size and mating.

I can put a memmo on the packing slip and/or a note right in the skid saying:

"Please don't stack on top of OD threaded parts"

And every time - the parts with the OD threads will come back on the bottom.

Take 2 or more trays of parts to another outside service.
Parts look similar, but different hole size.
Paperwork shows 2 or more different line items.
If I forget to put a note stating:

    "Doo not mix lots"

    They will come back mixed.

My pet peeve is when I go get a brand new drill bit (or twist drill, to be politically correct), put it in a cordless drill and as I break thru on the first hole the point corners break off. AARGGHH!

    - People who seem to think it's perfectly OK to leave off the second half of words. Like who the hell says 'Draw'? Probably the people who say 'Install' when they mean 'Installation'.

If that wasn't purposeful, the irony is strong.

Hey another thing! You missed the word "to" between trying and say.

My pet peeve: When other people correct my grammar.

Bolting the vise down but not bothering to indicate it. (Fired!)

    Thinking "anecdotal" means "antidotal".

This is going to be news to some people- you can't jumble up the characters in a word and expect it to retain it's meaning.
I'd anticipate machinists to appreciate this concept.

Imagine if they did the same with dimensions on a print.

Letters and numbers are altogether differ'nt things.
I don't know why - but they are - for me at least.

But I would never ask an engineer to proof read anything for me.
Maybe you fella's have differ'nt experiences.

I don't know what you mean. I only know what you said (or wrote).
