Just wondering if a machine shop would be able to make
a few small thread rolling dies from tool steel
or where is the best place to get this done.
the current one i have is worn
threaded rolling die dimensions:
-current one probably is made of tool steel, heat treated
-cylindrical threaded rolling die
-outer dia: 8 mm
-length: 10 mm
-rolling die has an external thread capable of
rolling threads of 10mm length onto 13 & 12 gauge
stainless steel rods.
the rods end up with 56 TPI threads per inch,
0.454 mm pitch
application:
-i use three (3) of these on a small hand tool
and axially rotate them to make the threads
on the stainless steel rods.
