Measuring an odd thread N 05-32

I've never seen this and I've been doing this a while (49 years). Print says N 05-32 25mm by 32 TPI. It's not in any standard I can find. Working back through purchasing who has requested it to try to get to engineering is taking a while. I'm trying to come up with a 3 wire calculation, but would really like a mating part or a gage. Not sure that is available. It's an external thread in 17-4 stainless. Anybody dealt with this before?

I think what you have there is a bearing locknut

look up mcmaster carr # 6343k16,I had a part that used those to hold a 25mm bearing

No, it is not. 0.969 is clearance on 25mm for the 32TPI thread.

An N-05 nut goes for a X05 series bearing and uses a W-05 star washer to keep it tight.

People lucky enough to be in a Metric World have their own series of bearing locknuts and washers.

No, it is an AFBMA standard locknut Series N-00. Thread major dia for an N-05 is .969 and 32 TPI.

The thread is under 25mm to allow the bearing to pass over and the nut is used to retain the bearing.

If it was a true 25mm locknut thread it would be 1.5mm pitch not 32TPI.

As others have said, go to mcmaster.com and search for bearing lock nut.
