Draw tube external thread measures 50mm by 1.5 pitch. Need to make nut to fit. What size hole should I start with and how deep to cut? Thanks Bob

Do note that the fundamental shapes of the ISO Metric and Unified (aka ISO Inch) threadforms are identical, which allows the same rule-of-thumb for the diameter of the hole to be threaded to be used for both ISO Metric and Unified (ISO Inch) threadforms: "Tap Drill Diameter" = Major Diameter minus Pitch.

Perhaps obviously, dimensions and tolerances for ISO Metric screwthreads are expressed in millimeters while those for Unified (ISO Inch) screwthreads are expressed in inches . . . AND the Pitch of a Unified (ISO Inch) screwthread will need to be calculated as 1 / Number of Threads Per Inch.

And more to show what you mean.
