I am having issues trying to get an answer to my question, and then I remembered what a great resource this forum is. I hope someone out there can help. In MIL-STD-130 under Table III where it talks about the type of marking for the type of protective finish, I am being told I need to " Apply over protective finish before oiling. Use ink in accordance with A-A-208, type I, or an equivalent type, cover with clear lacquer on nonporous surfaces." My questions is, is there a specific lacquer to use? If there is a spec for the ink, logic would say there is one for the lacquer. I have the ink figured out, but I know there has to be something over it so it wont get smudged or smeared. Please help.
