I think it's a 4xxx steel, like 4340 or 4140.

Hi im new to this form and i wanted to ask you all for some advice on milling 300m.
I am programming a job for a friend and i have never cut 300m before does anyone have any tips for how to cut it ?
reccomended SFM chip load ? Thanks.
What machine? Can you run HSM toolpaths?

A modified 4340, see it a lot in axle shafts and other parts experiencing high torsional loading.
As such, I'd probably start on the conservative side of 4340 at 25rc and go from there.
Attached is a screenshot from FSWizard with some random parameters I selected for a decent profiling path.
