Milling Machine Vise Lift Article in Modern Machine Shop

A couple of years ago there was an article in Modern Machine Shop about building a vise lift. If anyone has this article and could pass it along I would be appreciative. It was in issue 01-APR-04.

I had that product saved somewere on this damned computer. I.ll poke around to see if I can find it for you, As I recall, Forrest came up with the link with a good pic last time this item of topic came up. Might try to search (vise lift ) on here and other boards just may turn up.

Come to think of it, a member here made up his own verion of the vise lift and posted pics here a few months ago, and he did a outstanding job of it too. Probly the nicest vise lift I have seen.

Thanks Paul, I found the articles. I think I am going to build a version similar to the one sold by Penn Tool with the name Swing-A-Way. The photo they have online is not real detailed but I think I should be able to cobble up something similar. If you do run across your article from MMS I would appreciate a copy.

Daryl Bane made a gorgeous version of the SPI "Vise Caddy" sold at Penn Tool.
He posted a bunch of pictures that should help you build one.
