    Default Miniature adjustable shock absorber

    Hi,

I am looking for a shock absorber with stroke length of about 20-30mm.
It has to be adjustable with a load range of about 100-500N.
If someone is familiar with some off the shelf sock absorbers that are answering to the description above, it would be great to get some details.

    Thanks

Adjustable for initial load, travel, damping effect? I think some more information is needed. Thanks.

Have a look here. You can size it online, and spec what you need.

You can also search under the term "dashpot", many of which are adjustable. The same companies that offer them frequently offer "shock absorbers" (with a spring) as well, like these folks:

Might be hard to find a shock from an RC car that can handle 100-500N force. I'd look elsewhere. The link above looks promising.

Maybe look to the full suspension mountain bike world. The rear shocks on them are pretty small, and very adjustable if you spend enough $.

A lot of motorbikes use a small shocker as a steering damper.

Or any of their competitors. Wide range of mounts, adjustable within a range, some are rebuildable.

I'd avoid ACME products, they never seem to work right. Just ask Coyote...

We build Motorcycle shocks from scratch, all parts made by us. If I had more information I might be able to help, even send you a kit. That pretty short stroke for us though. 58mm is about the shortest of our normal builds. Spherical bearing eyelets or clevis mounts.

Post #6 mentions Ace in the UK. I have used the US location in the past, they were very helpful. The industrial shocks they supplied worked exactly as advertised. In this case I used an air cylinder to move a dove tailed slide back and forth with an air cylinder. The slide contacted the stops very gently after first hitting the shocks.

Went back and looked at the original post, maybe Ace has an location near Israel since they have one in the UK.
