I have a well used type b on my Colchester.
Im starting to find that on a couple of my holders, the tension isnt quite where I'd like it anymore.

Is there any way to increase the amount of clamping tnesion on these, or is the old girl plain worn out.

I really dislike using paper shim to get it to clamp out. Not repeatable, and a pain in the arse.

Is there a source of replacement parts for these?

It is possible to make a new cam which can restore some clamping force by removing the effects of wear. I don't think there is a simple way to modify individual tool homders to improve the clamping force, unless the expedient of closing up the round slots with a BFH works! I also have a couple of holders in my collection that don't clamp tightly like the others. I was planning to buy a replacement post and a coulpe of holders from Create Tool to fix the problem.

Mark,

I wish I could double thumbs up your post!
The pricing there is amazing.

I was quoted close to a couple grand to replace my post and 4-5 holders.

I was thinking of making my own holders, and a slightly oversize post, reusing the existing cam and arms.... but I couldnt buy decent material for those prices.
