I am in need of #40 threaded shank stubby drill bits with a 10-32 thread. I can't find them is MSC catalog nor on ebay, any leads on where or who sells them. Everything I find has a 1/4-28 thread.

Thanks
Ken

You must have a small "Terry angle" or similar.

#40 being smaller than the 10-32, it seems you will need to make a holder, or else attach a sleeve which is threaded (if the size difference is enough). I have a number of holders with mine, and have not needed to need to make another, but it would not be too hard.

You might try Brown Tool (browntool.com)
USATCO lists those as special order.
US Tool might have them (ustool.com)
Most of the major drill companies make those, just not advertised.

Few years ago I could have shipped you a handful

Problem solved. I figured the drill had to been silver brazed into the holder. Heated it up, pulled out the broken drill and brazed in a new drill. They should be easy enough to make and when I have some time I will make up a bunch of threaded holders and drill them to the size of drill as needed.
