    If he's a youngster (god, I'm getting old), he may not be familiar with the issue, would be worth doing some searching for "gold plating diffusion copper" to get some background. Like this:

    Did you contact that company I mentioned that said they handled big parts?

    It's used in silversmithing for covering fire stain ( like welding discolouration )and doing internal gold plating for vessels. You use a conductive brush with a silver solution and put the ground on what you're plating.

    I don't know if it is done commercially or just as kits for jewellers, hence the question.
