Source for knurls?

I lucked into a Eagle Rock/Knurlcraft scissor type knurling tool NIB. I may have outsmarted myself though. It takes an "L" type knurl & they don't appear to be all that easy to find. Anyone know of a good source for them?

Thanks,

Maybe the L is left hand. Knurls with spiral grooves come in L and R, and scissor knurling tools use one of each. Both knurls need to have the same pitch number.

When I need new knurls of a type I don't already have, I buy them from MSC.

Thanks for the reply Larry, I'll check with MSC. Here's the URL to the knurling tool I'm talking about

L type refers to a 20mm knurl but it also has to do with the axle size. The knurl has a larger shouldered through hole than what is commonly found. Something I wished I'd known about in advance. <g> Since the knurl is on the outside instead of the center, I'm guessing this is the reason for the larger axle size. I'm no machinist but have had a couple years machining experience. very little experience in picking the correct tooling.

Why not call Eagle Rock?

Otherwise I always recommend acu-trax

Yes, Eagle Rock is the easiest place to find them. I suppose they will cost more than the more common knurls. 1-800-324-5376

Rutland sells the Eagle Rock Knurlcraft knurls, and is nice enough to post prices. The L series run $31.70 each.

I was surprised to see Eagle Rock sellsor makes a [copy?] Miller Quick cut knurling head, and the metric knurls for them. Rutland has those knurls, too.
