Npt callout on drawing

1/8 NPT
1/4 NPT
etc.

You can put the drilled hole size if you wish, or let the machinist figure it out. Depth in controlled by the thread gauge so no depth call out is necessary unless a non standard depth is desired.

Just a suggestion that works for us. A callout indicating that the pipe tap should be driven until just 6 full threads are left on the tap. This gives us just the right thread size on 1/8” to 2” pipe taps.

What does that gauge look like and where would I find one? Is there some kind of G0-No Go feature or just one size fits all? Photo?

The tolerance lies within the +/- 1 turn of the gauge. Since it is tapered and the tolerance is +/- 1 turn of the L1 length (where the flat is ground) there is no need for both a go and no go gauge.
