Off Topic? I bought a set of old solid brass Swedish angel chimes. Problem is the top bearing seems to be too stiff for them to work. They do run for a minute if push started. They have a brass rod with a taper at the top and a brass bearing cap tube that sits on top. I have read there may be a glass bead for a bearing that sits on the pin. I can not see anything in there.
I can see no wear. Is there any point in trying to polish the pin or anything. I do not think any lube would be thin enough to work. I always thought they run dry.

Ended up having to solder the base so the upright would stay vertical. The center pole holder would not stay in place, loose rivet job. Also had to bend the bell supports down to reduce interference.
