The Metrology forum is superfluous at this point, at least for me. Few posts are placed there, as well as few answers. I will continue to post my metrology related questions in the General forum as I did before, because they are more likely to be seen there and more likely to be answered there, and less likely to be interfered with by a/the moderator.

If a proper moderator cannot be found, closing it would be a reasonable solution. That would also end the complaints about the inability to place Gordo on the ignore list.

What I want to know is how a previously banned member was made a mod and why? There has to be a reason for it, that the powers to be will not come clean about. My uneducated guess is his constant trolling drives up activity here that has a financial benefit. What else could it be? If you took a vote to kick one person off PM he would win in a landslide.

Countdown to deletion started, I'd say this post will be gone in under an hour.

I appreciate Gordon's participation on this board -- especially his contribution of screwthread form-and-dimension data. Over the years, we've looked at some things differently, and other things from the same points of view . . . which is to be expected considering that we have lived our lives in different places and under different circumstances.

Furthermore, I find Gordon-as-Moderator a worthy successor to his predecessor, The Real Leigh.

Should I ever have the opportunity to meet Gordon, I'd look forward to it.

    John

Entertainment? It's a really bad stand-up act ending in a dumpster fire............................I don't care if Gordon is a PM member, but is behavior and attitude ever since he has joined is not becoming of a good mod. I have always had him on my ignore list as his posts are usually a complete waste of time. Now that he's a mod, I can't ignore him.

This I agree with, although I don't think Leigh ever stretched to deleting a member.

Talk about reputation! A member has disappeared, and almost everybody immediately suspected Gordon.

    Putin of the forum.

Yeah, I'm sure Gordon was " Badgeman " on the Grassy Knoll in Dallas.

I didn't know that we peons got a vote.

AND just how is it going to be anonymous if my name is at the top of the post?

I've said it before, this BB is provided by the owners and they make the rules. I just participate and try to abide by them. And I appreciate the chance to communicate with all the brilliant minds here. And I have no quarrels with any of the moderators here. Disagreements, perhaps. Quarrels, NO.

Yes you get a vote in this thread. Youll find the buttons at the top of the page and the only info thats shown is the sums of the votes cast in each option.

You can say how you voted in a post if you like.

    Hmmm..... 63% V 18% at the moment.
I can hear the Brexit remainers saying it's close and perhaps we need a best of 3 vote...

Default OT:- GBC to remain as a moderator?

If the “management” of PM continues to let the site be polluted with politics and extreme opinions, this website will have seen it’s better days.

There is already a huge presence of similar “professional metalworkers sharing knowledge” on other websites like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

Don has whored the site out in the name of ads and revenue, then largely disappeared. (Not that anybody else would have done much different...)

There’s many examples of attempts at professional websites for machinists that lye in the dustbin of the Internet, because of greed, loud obnoxious members, and poor moderation.

Yup. How anyone could tie this to politics is just bizarre. Its a different result going from being able to put an antagonistic know it all on ignore to handing him the controls.

Look at the good side. We went to a machining site and learned all about Denmark.

I spoiled my paper. I wouldn't dignify the " poll " with my vote.

This winter San Francisco had a portable outdoor ice rink. No it does not get that cold, They had a short free show "Drag queens on ice". Fun was had by all. Then people had to pay to skate.

Before that occurs, we may see the website sold to one of a number of companies that own, manage and mine website for data.

Is it just me, or have the vote totals changed? 47 members vote to oust Gordon? I could have sworn it was like 70-80 a few days ago?
