When the economy isn't so great the plastics houses around here are ever so happy
to let me browse around looking for sheet goods. But when times are good they don't
want to hear from me. But I did find some Tivar 1000 at a metal supply not to far away.
I bought two 1/2" 4' x 4' sheets of Tivar 1000 for $100 each. I brought them home and
cleaned off the dirt and dust. Looks like new.
Then I looked up what this stuff costs.
More than $400 for a 1/2" 4x4 and about $625 for a 4x10. A 1" 4x10 costs over $1200.
I use plastics that are resistant to chemicals such as lacquer thinner.
