Hi!

I’m building a 25t forge press. I use adjustable guide plates on the contact points. The plan was to use bronze C954, but I’m wondering if I could use UHMW instead. By the way... there is no bronze between main contact on the images but I want to add a 1/8" inch sheet there. Either bronze or UHMW.
WDYT?

When you push 25T with that design it will cock badly and squirt the plastic out. C954 will work OK or even steel if well lubed.

Why SHOULD we?

Not even CLOSE to a "new need"

"Find the experts"

Ask the folks who make and sell them.. by the multiple TONS a year!:

Wear Products | Dayton Lamina Corporation

Bronze, Steel and Self Lubricating Products | Dayton Lamina Corporation

Bronze Wear Plate | National Bronze Manufacturing

They have competition.

LOTS of it!

What do you/we know, that they do NOT know?

Already.

And many times over.....
