Professional 3D Scanners

Hello all, The shop I work for is expanding and we are looking to get a 3D scanner. We anticipate spending $10k-$20k but can do more if it's worth it.

We typically build bumpers for vehicles and need to speed up our prototyping. As it is it takes over a week to get a new bumper to production and there are many little hiccups with fitup. It's just very difficult to measure vehicles manually. Our ideal use case is to remove the factory bumper, scan the vehicle, build a model around it, and have it fit first go.

It seems like the market is favoring handheld devices, but I feel as if a mounted scanner would be more accurate.

Does anyone have experience or knowledge on any particular brands or models?
