Question cleaning plate style heat exchangers

I have a small plate heat exchanger on a piece of equipment.

Lube oil on one side, water based coolant on the other.

The unit is small, but replacement cost is over $1K. Must be special ;-)

At any rate, stuff happens, and a lot of stuff went into and through both sides.

I'm flushing with DOM, but the debris just keeps coming. tapering off though.

Is there a "best practices" for this cleaning effort.

System pressures are 0 to 14psi on the water side, up to 80 psi on the oil side.

The last thing I want is a cracked seam !

Ultrasound and acid

or take it your local radiator (not radiation) shop for a boil out.

We've never had very good cleaning plate and frame exchangers though. Any chance you could swap in a shell and tube arrangement? A boat oil cooler would work perfectly if the duty was sufficient.
