Hi,

I have a old bridgeport pulley type milling machine. Tool changing is a clasical operation with a drawbar to release or to grip the tool holder.

I wonder that is there way to make this quick or automatic like a cnc machine?

There are quick change systems for manual mills. They are generally expensive. What type of collet does your mill take? That will determine availability of a quick change system.

How good does the mach 1 system hold? Sounds a lot like my Tree mill, which holds a lot better that R8 collets.
Another system is the TTS by Tormach. A 3/4 r8 collet stays in and the rest of the holders have a 3/4" stud. You just have to loosen the drawbar a bit.

I think the best solution for the OP will be a power draw bar. An Erickson QC30 would be better, but was never offered for that mill and the cost would eclipse the value of the mill several fold. There are adapters, but that just moves the tool further from the bearings, defeating all value.
