R8 collet's for Letter size drills?

Does anyone make R8 collet's for number and letter size drills?
I've often found the need to use tap drills in a collet so I
don't have to drop the knee to make room for a drill chuck.

I use an ER16 straight shank extension. Other option is to turn the drill shanks down.

B&S #9, NMTB 40, and #5 MT here, no R8, but same type of solution.

ER 20 on 13 mm straight shank (or #2 MT for the lathe and DP) here.

Also have ER 40, same again.

ER is actually cheap, given how wide the range each of very few collets can cover, and how competitively priced it is off the back of a Brazillion CNC spindles and live tools using it, world-wide.

TG100 is better yet. Just not as cheap.

Short of daylight, even so?

That's why I also allocated floorspace for the drill presses!

:)

TG 100 Colllet holder for an R-8 spindle ? ? ? ? ? ?

"Are ATE" are most commonly found on BirdPorts.

I have real machine tools instead. As specifically listed, first line, my post.

That said, TG100 DO exist on R8 tails. TG 50 might make more sense of course.

Optimistic as BirdPort pilots tend to be, I'd not be surprised to find 300 lb Hay-Budden anvils converted to R8 tails.

Which is dumb. Ennybody KNOWS a Hay-Budden b'long CAT 60.

:D
