Hi, I've got three of these rockwell milling machine handwheels. I know people look for these sometimes, I've had them for years, and i dont have a rockwell milling machine so i was going to repurpose at least one of them for something else. I have a mini lathe, and I want to be abel to attach the handwheel to the spindle for turning the chuck when im tapping parts in the chuck, or similar.
I need to bore out the keyed hole to 15.5mm. do you think i will have any problem turning this with a HSS boring bar?
Also, i would like to remove the dial from the handwheel, but it seems captured in there somehow.
Has anyone ever taken this off? There is a thumb screw to lock and unlock the dial, and underneath that screw is another stud of somekind, but it has no slot or hex or anything for me to drive it out. it looks like to be what is capturing the dial ring. Any ideas? thank you.
