I do not see a search function anywhere on this site. Am I looking right at it? How do I search through the forums?

Go to a forum. It will show up next to Home on the blue and red bar at the top of the screen.

Search is in two places on the pages with a thread. It is also a few lines down, thus:

The best way to search this site is to use google to perform the search for you, as the built in search is... uh... awful...
Simply go to google (or if your URL bar is also a search bar, click there) and type: "Site: PracticalMachinist.Com YourSearchHere"
Drop the quotation marks, obviously.
Also, all of the normal boolean search operators (+, ", etc) work this way, same as from the google home page.
