Got a question that I just got to know. Why do indexable shell mills come in different degrees? I see them in 90, 70 and 45 degree. At the end of the day they accomplish the same thing so why? Thanks, Bob L
 
They put pressure in different directions on the holder/spindle allowing for greater rigidity. 90 are just that, yet less rigid and flex more possibly causing vibration
45 pushes away at the same angle up into the bearings making it stronger
