    Default Sieg SC4 lathe

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have just received delivery of a Sieg SC4 bench lathe. Please could someone recommend what oil/lubrication to use on the bed ways and oil ports. There is one oil port in the head stock and various others dotted around the slides and tail stock etc. I have read that motor cycle chain oil is good for the gears.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    From the sticky

Note this is the is the Manufacturing Forum, not the home shop machinist forum. And while all levels of "how to" metalworking or woodworking questions regarding technique are welcome here, we are drawing the line at discussing manual "home shop grade" Asian machine tools and hand tools.
