Hello all. Would anyone happen to know what thread insert would be used to cut the large acme, external thread on a hammer union?

Depending on the size of hammer union. Some of those threads are like 3-1/2 TPI full Acme. I would suggest using the Kemmental or Tool-Flo Style No. 4 size inserts or on edge TNMC-54 size/style inserts. I don't know of any SnapTap style inserts that cut that coarse of a thread.

We need more information than that, ..a lot more.

It is a 2” 1502 male. On female hammer union it is stamped CNSWP. Thread depth 0.192”. If you need any more let me know. Thanks for the help all.

The thread on a 2" Fig 1502 hammer union is a 4.125-3 ACME-2G RH thread.

"CNSWP" = "Cold Nominal Standard Working Pressure" or something very close to it. Does not have anything to do with the thread specification.
