Sjogren NO5C question

If I am able to purchase the 5C closer referenced at a very low price ($20-$100) would it be out of the question to adapt it to my lathe. Said closer looks like it has about 3" outside threads and an inner taper. I am considering making a backing plate that would fit my old 1947 13" Le Blond Regal lathe. I have a 8tpi 2" (approximately) spindle nose.
Is this a fools errand?
Thanks for all replies.

Some Sjogren collet chucks have separate adapter plates and others do not. You described a long taper (L00 or similar) mount and I think that is one that has the separate mount, so it can be changed to a different adapter. I recall that the camlock chucks do not have a separate adapter.

There are three different types of Sjogren 5C chucks with handwheels. They can have a plain thin nose, or they can have a nose with threads or a nose with a 4 degree taper to allow mounting Hardinge step chuck closers. There are also three types of Sjogren lever operated 5C chucks.
