Source for square hard steel wire in small quantities?

I am looking for hard-drawn high strength steel wire (music wire) with square or near-square cross-section in sizes .015-inch to .06inch square, 100 ft max, preferably 25 ft. Any ideas? McMaster has round and flat (clock spring stock) but not square.

I know some auto body shops use a square wire to cut urethane when replacing windshields.

Check out a local spring making company. They generally stock square and rectangular wire forms for making springs out of. At least the one's I deal with do. Ken

Brownell's. if they don't have it, perhaps you could make a special inquiry with them. they have been in the spring retailing business for a long while now.

They seem to have what you need, but you would have to buy in quantities of five pounds.

They may tell you who retails smaller amounts of their square wire, though.
