Strange sandpaper type?

I go to this used industrial warehouse where I buy all kinds of sandpaper. anyway I bought this very strange looking type, it is cloth backed and rolled up in belt form and fine grit. the strange part is; when you move it back and forth, it has these diagonal lines that catch the light and sparkle. has anyone seen such abrasive cloth?

thanks, Mike

Probably some kind of abrasive with diagonally spaced rows for swarf relief. Might have been custom made for someone, perhaps as stock to be glued as belts or sleeves.

Diagonal rows like that tend to throw the swarf to one side when used on a belt or drum sander.

Sounds like 3M Trizact to me.

We use it on belts sanders for polishing stainless steel pipe.

I think your right! The belt is 1/2" wide , I can only see a very small part of the text. its 3m and it looks like a match. What is it made of? ? its nothing i have ever seen in the 40 years of different fab/machine shops
