Sunstrand Rigidmill....

They don't make them like this anymore. Used and abused....especially by guys running it past the limits. Scrapper took it Wednesday.....after a struggle. Anyone care to guess the weight?

Don't trust the book. Last Sundstrand I had, book said 25,000. Truck stopped at the scales, was 32,000.

Luckily, he wasn't loaded with anything else at the time but could have been ugly.

If you want to see a monster, look at their VMC's ....

This one tipped the scales at 14K+. The truck they sent was rated for 7. Machine was a beast back in the day. It used to plow through some materials. In the end we were using it as a glorified drill press. Drilling M4x.7 holes along the outer diameter of a part. Worked great with the big rotary table we have. Just awkward with the spindle orientation.

Their horizontals were better yet, to bad they had that limp noodle straight shank tool.
