Any good advice on extracting a broken tap from part?

Broke an M5 HSS tap in a piece of 304 plate and really want to not redo it.

a very small piece is sticking out from the top.

I have never had any luck getting them out and conserving the hole/part anyone have any advice?

Call Cammann inc. they make tap extraction machines and ask them if someone near you has a tap extraction shop. 877 965-4051.

Use a TIG welder. Be aware that the piece sticking out may or may not be connected to the rest of the tap below. They sometimes shatter.
Wit TIG torch melt the tap end just a small bit and then start adding filler. Bit of filler and cool, repeat until you have something to get a better grip on. The heat does help a bit too. Grab with vise grips and start to wiggle a bit. At some point it may come out but don't be greedy with the torque.
You may also need very good ventilation depending on type of tapping lube you used.
You can also drill it out with special drills made for this. Or buy the appropriate size masonry drill and sharpen the tip to work CCW. Cut the shank down as shout as possible so it is very rigid and have at it.
