    Default Threading inserts

    Hi Guys

I have a Valenite A12-VLER2 boring bar, and I would like to find some threading inserts for it. I can't even find anything on the net matching the bar and so far Walter/Valenite doesn't even show that bar.

    Thanks in advance!!

Could be obsolete, Maybe someone on the forum has better information then I, that said we have a bunch of odd/old carbide cutters and one time or another I have called many tool holder manufacturers. Some times it takes a bit but more times then not I have found something that would work in it's place or a superseded part number. I have called Valenite direct and found them to be very helpful in the past.

MattiJ is spot on. Yes, same insert.

This is a #2 top notch internal threading and grooving bar.
Valenite part VLT-2 for 60 degree threads.
Same as Kennametal and other generic NT-2L, just needs to be a #2 and L.
    Here:NT2L - INTERNAL
and even here: NT 2L Tin Carbide Insert
    plus many on E-yuck.

A NTP has a 10 degree hook up top for freer cutting. NG series for grooving, others for different thread forms.
These do not interchange with Sandvick's Top-locks which while the same physical size have a different style clamp groove.
