I once worked on a Belgian machine were we needed a technical translator. A young guy about 30 years old turned it. He could speak 6 languages fluently and he was conversant in technical and mechanical terms also.

I did once work with a Swiss guy who only had broken English, ( plus German, French and some Italian ! ) he was trying to tell me something about gearing, He was saying " Teensh, Teensh ". When I made it clear I didn't understand he started pointing to his teeth, I got it then.

I can follow most American accents but I struggled with the guy who had that unfortunate accident with the radial arm drill. I once saw that US TV programme about a family of car repossession experts, " Lizard Licks ", I think it was called, that needed sub titles for me.

    Regards Tyrone.

I had a simple trouble shooting problem come up that was a timing issue. The error code said overshot sheet. If it said early or late or advanced or retarded I would have picked up and corrected the problem.Every thing looked to function normally, the sensor triggered at approximately the right time.As soon as the speed maxed out an "over shot fault" would stop the machine.
What it meant was that the sheet was not detected in the narrow window (10deg)of time at speed. It was retarding at speed.I assumed over shot meant early.

Probably not a very good example but a lot of translations while they may be grammatically correct they may be out of context and it is very confusing to figure out what they mean.

I will say that the newer manuals have gotten better, the ones from 15-20 years ago were very confusing.

Exact but nearly impossible to understand translations have also their places like keeping layers busy in US but this is not probably one of those cases.
I'm wondering how, whoever did them, arrived at these translations.

    Re TNB and dian.

What I'm looking for at the moment are a few I can send the brochure to by post mail not email.

The reason I suggested my email is to stop my PM box from getting full with possible future correspondence re this thread.

To get my email simply click on my AKA (also my real name).

If I don't hear from those interested by March 30th then don't bother. It's not about finding the cheapest but it is about finding the right ones.

When I watch something in English on my TV it's almost always texted. The texts are often very wrong and, worse yet, often stupidly wrong.

    Quebec french is different

It's considered a low - guttural form of the language

If you use Quebec french you will alienate or disgust the Swiss or French

You get it's a brochure I want translated and not dialects or accents?

I can just about hear where in the UK a person comes from by listening to them. They all get the same books (in English) to read in school and newspapers aren't usually written in dialect.

I can read about 90% of what is written in Norwegian (very similar but certainly not identical) and about 50% of what is written in Swedish.

Less than 1 minutes. How much do you understand?

I did in the OP. I have a large screen monitor for my computer so I have no problem reading it.

Maybe you can copy the pictures in the OP and copy them onto an A4 page?

I've just done what I suggested you do. No problem.

Have you ever clicked on your own AKA (RODELU) or that of any other member?

    1. I don't want PM correspondence for this.

    2. You've always been able to send me an email and me to you.

Pics in your first post don't have enough resolution to read any of the small print. Possibly some forum limitation.
Just send the pictures in high quality to interested parties in e-mail (watch for maximum attachements size, under 10MB works almost always)
Or share via some website like imgur.com

They were only posted to give an idea as to the amount of text. My intention was to send the brochures.

I'll take your advice and send pictures to the emails as it seems not all postal services are in operation.

The "good" thing is that there's no rush as manufacturing many places have as good as stopped.
