Typical, i came in today to run a repeat small job and on the first part the insert pops....

Of course it was my last insert......

Seems that the Valgroove line is gone??

Anyone making inserts ??

Holder is a VG109 16-30 06/63110-03

Looking for neutral for stainless
I think they were VSG-GG style

I used to get them from Penn Tool for an outrageous price. Maybe no longer?

I've gotten very nice custom inserts from them when I needed special forms - quick, good service (or at least, it was, haven't ordered any specials in a while).

Thinbit does indeed make nice inserts, quickly, for a good price. How deep do you need to make these grooves? Why not just a standard top-notch style holder/inserts? Tool-Flo makes a good knock-off holder/insert for less than Kennametal sells theirs for.

I buy them through one of my tooling vendors. They only operate in the SE though so I don't think I can help you with them. Tool Flo lists reps on their website though. Contact Us
