Vertex rotary table

Vertex tools have a good reputation. However, I bought a dividing head made by Vertex that had the chucks back plate periphery laser engraved, lines, 10 degree numerals and all.
Had I known they would take a shortcut like that I wouldn't have bought it. It took many hours to engrave them with the old Shizouka CNC mill. I should add that the fun I had doing the engraving was probably worth the trouble it took, but it shouldn't have needed that.
I also bought a Vertex 4 jaw chuck that seems nice enough.

The Vertex divining head I bought 30? Years ago has all machined index marks. Probably pre laser engraved anything days?

I got one new a couple of years ago, laser engraved. It's plenty clear for my eyes, and overall a serviceable rotary table, but it annoys me that the crank has some smooth spots and some tight spots. There's probably something I could do to adjust it, but I don't use it frequently enough to be more than a mild annoyance.

Have many and can not say anything bad.
Not the super high precision at .0001 at 12 inches but good and repeatable.
As with any manual machine tool come to zero or your set number from the same direction.
