I've recently acquired a Hofmann UTH-100 universal dividing head but missing a couple of parts. One of the bits I am missing is what Hofmann refers to as a "differential bolt" which extends the spindle rearwards to engage with the gear train for differential indexing.
The only information I have on this is a sectional drawing in the operating manual, which all makes sense, other than how it attaches to the rear of the spindle. It appears to run a through bolt which tightens against some sort of taper inside the spindle. I'm guessing this is either some sort of expanding arbor inside the spindle, or uses a threaded morse insert (these have a morse internal taper) to tighten against.
Does anyone have one of these, and could either briefly explain how they work, or alternatively supply a picture.
Thanks for any help!
Andrew
