This came in a box of tools I bought a while back . I’ve been puzzling on this for a while thoughts?

If you press on or strike the cylindrical protrusion on the flat end, does a sharp point emerge from the conical end?

If so, it's a punch for marking he location to drill holes for hinge screws

Those would be some big hinges.....but it does seem like that concept might apply, at least.

The hole on the end is a center hole also there is a removable weight

Closest thing apart from what’s already suggested is part of the impact dart for a pvc film or hdpe etc dart drop test machine, however since I used one I’m Sure the dart tip was a radius not conical, dart drop is a little known test where a weighted “ dart” is dropped from a set height to ascertain the films resistance to holes being poked in it, like carrier bags, dpc’s and the like
It definately looks lab type of thingy
The removable weight bit makes me think that, but I’m having a guess to be honest
