Currently 200+ holes .300" deep in aluminum with a #60 drill. Using a 1/2" keyless chuck on a knee mill. No issues so far just mind numbing with another 600+ to go.

Would this be a perfect time for a sensitive feed drill chuck? Any benefit to them if Im not breaking drill bit now? Is there a common standard when to use them and get better results than not?

Thanks for your time.

If you frequently drill holes this size (or smaller) in Al, you might want to get a spindle speeder of some form to run the drills faster. At best, you're maxed around ~4K, but could use at least 10-20K with a #60 drill.

Might be worth looking into. Lots of options on Ebay.
