I have the chance to buy a "Winslomatic 800" drill grinder.

I've never heard of them before, does anyone know if they're any good/what the going rate for one is?

Thanks

It seems it would only be useful if you have many hundreds of drills to grind.

Not hundreds. That wouldn't fill out a single shift.

Tens of thousands a year, year after year.

And the Model 800 (1967 until..?) was entirely custom CAM operated.

Even an Aerospace regrind shop running 3 shifts a day would want the later all-CNC models - 1990 onward.

An 800 for sale, used, might have cams for VERY FEW sizes of drill.

Aircraft rivet holes. Printed circuit boards. The sort of industrial environment that is constantly dulling the same few drills, every day, but in huge numbers per-each those few sizes.
