    Depends alot on the application, I can see it nice for low rpm and frameless spindle motor usage, but at a point a BLDC would probabally be just as cost effective and cover more applications.

    Got a kick out of this, torque motors have been around since before 1970. Quite a bit longer but that would date me.

    Many applications have been in aerospace and not generally known to the public. Thousands of torque motors have given their lives to launching space payloads on a system developed in the early 1960s. Some have been there and back aboard the Space Shuttle. Some go to space and never return, they're still leaving us. Had the great pleasure to be involved with lots of torque motors.
