I'm somewhat new at barreling jobs, and have only worked on Remingtons. My question regards rear-entry action wrenches. I have one for the Rem 700, and it works fine. It has a slot in the lug for the action guide rail, but it will not fit an M 70, which is what I want to do next. I'd like to make my own. Can anyone here explain what the front end should look like? Dimensions?

Thanks for any help.

My Remington internal wrench is simply a rectangular bar of 4140 that is long enough and essentially the dimensions of the front end of the bolt--as thick as the locking lugs are thick (vertical dimension) and as wide as the bolt over the top or bottom of the lugs (not the maximum circular distance over the lugs.) Can't see why a Winchester would have to be any different (but I don't have one to check.)
