AR Buffer weight and spring considerations?

I've considered adding weight to the buffer on a LR-308 to better control the brass ejection and "felt recoil".

Adding 2 oz to the present 5 oz buffer is what I have in mind.

Question

Does the spring need consideration?

There are so many combinations and variables, it is tedious to wade through the on-line commentary.

The buffer weight and spring and gas block all work together to ensure reliable operation with a given load. Mess with one and you will have to change something else. Change the load and all the previous changes may have to be redone. We spend lots of time with testing and high speed video to ensure that any changes we make in a weapons system don't affect the reliability. An example is the changes that had to be made to the M4/M16 when we adopted the M855 ammo, then again for M855A1.
It would be easier and cheaper to adjust the ejector and spring for the brass patterning, and easily reversible. For the recoil, just put weight in the buttstock, it will also help balance out the rifle for better offhand shooting.
